VIDEO UPDATE!
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jun 11, 2019 at 11:16:11 PM

Hi friends!

The number creeps along, but the math shows that we're doing really great. We'll likely hit all of our stretch goals, and that makes me very happy.

I'm confident we'll do at least as well as Battlestations did ($220k) so I've commissioned a new sculpt for an alternate Power Lifter mini, one that has some new weapons and abilities. More on that soon!

Kickstarters have a huge opening and a huge closing. We're doing just fine!

RIVERS AND ROADS UNLOCKED! Undead Viking Review!
almost 5 years ago – Sat, Jun 08, 2019 at 01:18:32 AM

Stretch Goal Unlocked!

We are plugging along on a collision course with unlocking all my planned stretch goals! You guys are great!

Today we unlocked rivers and roads - a whole new sheet of 2 inch or larger punchboard tiles that give you even more freedom in building unique planets and creating your own missions. I'll show the art when we get it in.

How Can I Help?

Post our review videos on social media including Facebook, Reddit, and forums for miniatures games and RPGs.

Undead Viking Review Released!

True to his name, Undead Viking stayed up late many days to make a comprehensive review of Battlestations. I originally paid him a tiny token fee to do a preview, and he instead made an eloquent 45 minute long epic discussion of Dirtside and Battlestations. Please watch it and COMMENT on the video to show your appreciation of all that he does.

Suggestions?

Let's keep momentum up. Comment below or message me with suggestions. We'll be starting up some Facebook ads and working to improve the clarity of our page over the weekend. All suggestions are welcome!!!

Stretch Goals!
almost 5 years ago – Thu, Jun 06, 2019 at 01:20:44 AM

Hi guys, we’re fixing a computer issue so we won’t have the pretty version of the stretch goals up until tomorrow but here they are so you see them. It took a mountain of physical effort just to get launched, and the stretch goal document didn’t get added in time. But the team is recovered today and re-energized. unlocked:

$60,000 Minis 3D Printable free for backers

$70,000 Complete digital version of Dirtside (including all rules and lore) available to all $20+ backers (via Tabletop Simulator and pdf)

$80,000 High quality terrain pdfs available to all backers over $20

$90,000 Dirtside searchable rules will be added to the Battlestations wiki at battlestations.info

$100,000 additional Car and additional Bike mini (total of 2 each)

To Go:

$110,000 Bonus sheet of counters with rivers and roads and other extra terrain tiles

$120,000 Bonus Building tiles with alternate art for Towers

$130,000 4 Black bases – Used for psions, diplomats, and allies.

$140,000 36 “Treasure” items added, like upgraded vehicles (we’ll do an update video about this l!)

$150,000 Reptilianoid (snakoid) alien mini - we’ll have a vote on the mini you want

$160,000 10” Lava markers for tracking lava flows

$170,000 1 Additional Starship Template (total of 2+)

$180,000 Pyreltian alien – VOTE on the mini

(There will now be 2 of every mini in the game, plus at least 12 wheels for converting jet to motor and motor to jet.)

More content soon! TERRAIN BOARDS Backer David R asked about the terrain boards. Here they are. You won’t need to proxy terrain to play the missions in Dirtside except in rare cases, like an all-water planet. But if you want to build your own unique planets beyond the smaller tiles you could get extra boards as an add-on. That’s it for now! -Jeff

We hit the ground running! I'll announce stretch goals tomorrow.
almost 5 years ago – Wed, Jun 05, 2019 at 01:10:40 AM

FUNDED. Thank you. I'll announce stretch goals tomorrow.

We hit the ground running! Your mission is to drive this heavy lifter around, picking up stretch goals and placing them inside every copy of Battlestations: Dirtside.

Let's decide together how ambitious we want to make this game. If you want more stuff then let's make it happen.

Let's officially add the Heavy Lifter mini to every copy of Dirtside. Heavy Lifters let you move heavy things around, so you can fight fires with them, pick up friends (or enemies), and turn pretty much anything into a crater. It is also used in mission 5 of the campaign to assemble jumbled ship modules into a working starship before a lava flow wipes out the shipyard. (See below.)

Thanks again, and please remember to download the avatar images from the top of the page to use on your social media to help spread the word. There's plenty more to discover dirtside....

Heavy Lifters

These are treaded vehicles that can hold up to 4 characters and up to 4 cling-ons. They require 4 Cargo Bay slots in order to be carried by starship.

They have treads, not wheels. For movement, roll a Piloting skill check and divide by 2 (round up) to see how many spaces they may go.

A treaded vehicle ignores ALL terrain other than buildings and ship modules, and is automatically successful in the first maneuver it attempts in each space it enters.

Additional rules for heavy lifters:

When operating one, you may make an engineering check of 8 to pick up or place things carefully in adjacent space (diagonally is permitted). Automatic action to drop things in an adjacent space (diagonally is permitted). A failed pickup leaves the object on the ground. A failed placement puts a Broken marker on the object (or 1d6 to the character), but still succeeds in putting it where intended.

Things that can be picked up: Unattached Modules, Vehicles, Characters, Barrels, Personal Equipment, Whaloids, Craters and Forests (the space becomes “dirt” and you are now holding rubble which will turn any space other than a Building into a Crater space) sand or dirt (becomes Crater). Water (stays water but you are holding water you can dump to quench all fires in one space). Things that cannot be picked up: Other terrain not specifically mentioned, Modules that are attached, starships, Buildings.

• Heavy Lifters count as unlocked Buildings for Line of Sight and moving through them.
• May be piloted by a Whaloid.

Ramming: Roll 3 dice for damage each object a heavy lifter rams. This will be personal damage for characters not in a vehicle or building. If the object rammed is a vehicle, this will put a broken marker on the vehicle on a 4+ for bikes, 5+ for cars or 6 for a treaded vehicle on any of the dice. If the object being rammed is a building or module and any of the dice is a 6, the ram puts a broken marker on it and adds one point of hull damage to a ship and causes a survival check for a building.
